New Bath Adventure!

This morning we decided to try out Bradyn's new bath seat that we got yesterday from the babysitter. He loves it!! He's outgrowing his tub very quickly and likes to kick his feet so much that we thought this seat would give him more room to play and enjoy the bath water. He had the biggest smile on his face as soon as I sat him in it. I put his rubber ducky in the tub and he kept trying to grab it as it would float by.

His hair is finally growing, so if you look really close I tried to make a little mohawk!! It looked a lot bigger in person versus this picture....and no his hair is not completely red from what it looks in these pics. It's mostly strawberry blond.

Last night was also a new adventure for us - we decided to try out green beans! I've given him a mashed up banana but mostly we've just been feeding him rice cereal and of course his bottle. So I decided I better get with the program and try new foods, so green beans was first on our list - mostly because those are my favorite vegetable. He seemed to like them and ate almost the whole bowl before the hands went into his mouth and what a mess!!! I did manage to keep his hands out of his hair and most of them mess was just smeared all over his face and on top of the highchair tray!!

Growing Boy

My little guy hasn't been feeling very well this week so I made an appointment on Friday to make sure he didn't have an ear infection or anything else serious. Luckily it seems just to be a cold, actually more a sore throat and not much of a runny nose. I feel so bad because he coughs sometimes so hard that it makes him cry, I just wish it were me and not him! Well anyway....his six month appointment was supposed to be this Tuesday so his doctor quick combined that appointment when I was there on Friday and here are his stats:

Weight: 18 lbs 12 ozs = 75%
Height: 26 1/2 in = 50%

So overall he's a very healthy (chunky) boy!!

Weather

I'm not usually one that takes pictures of the sky or just random things but the storm that came in on Wednesday night just looked so neat I hauled out the camera. It was kind of a strange storm because the clouds overhead were so dark and it was windy but we didn't get any rain until it was almost completely past us. Maybe in other areas it wasn't like this but by our house it was. We had just enough wind come through to knock over everyone's portable basketball hoops and make me scurry around outside to take down my hanging baskets as they were flinging around and flower petals were scattered all over my porch!!

New Accomplishment!!

We've reached a new milestone - Bradyn is sitting up on his own!! I still have to stay close to catch him and re-balance him but he's getting better everytime we sit him down. Now I can just put a few toys around him and he reaches for them on his own and plays a little bit. I also have ventured into the baby food world. I've been giving him rice cereal for some time now but I thought I better start moving onto some real foods, so I had a banana sitting on the counter and decided to mash it up. Your supposed to go three days in a row with the same food to make sure they don't have an allergy to it (my sister told me this, so I'm going along with that). The first day he seemed to love it, the second day he loved half of it and then we started to get some pretty funny faces. Brandon took some pictures but the lighting is pretty bad, so hopefully you can make out the facial expressions. Today I tried bananas out of a jar and that he seemed to like better. I think we're going to move onto a vegetable next. On Tuesday he's going to be 6 months old already, the time is sure flying by!!

Last night Woody (Brian) and Marcy stopped over for a visit. Bradyn enjoyed the attention and just had to sit on the couch to be with the boys. For some reason he just kept tipping over towards his daddy :)

I was flipping through the hundreds of pictures on my camera and I just couldn't believe how big my little boy is getting!!! I can remember giving him baths when he was just a couple months old and then when it was lotion time he would just lay there so still....but now....I was lucky to even get this photo of Bradyn sitting still. He rolls every where and thinks he can crawl by lifting his butt in the air and burying his face on the floor to pull himself forward. He also does the "superman" pose a lot and kicks his legs and arms like he's going to take off some where. I can only imagine what things I've got ahead of me....teeth, crawling, walking... I just don't want him to grow anymore and to stay my little boy.

I was checking out another one my friend's blog sites and saw she had this song posted and I'm stealing it (thanks Amy!) and posting it to my site as well. There is actually some history behind it...Elijah Bossenbroek is married to someone I used to work with and they moved out of state. He is an extremely talented piano player and has CD's out of his music that he creates on his own. If you have the time please listen, I think you'll really enjoy it!

Our Day Off

Since my work schedule has changed and I'm able to work from home, I'm lucky enough to have Thursday's off during the week - so we decided to hitch a ride with Great Grandma and Grandpa to go see Grandma and Grandpa up at Silver Lake. They have a trailer up there and took the week off to stay. It was a gorgeous day and we got to sit by the beach for awhile and take lots of walks...and not to mention eat a really good supper!! Here's a few pics of our day!

Bradyn decided to try on Grandma's visor to keep the sun out of his eyes!

Here we all are sitting in the shade and Bradyn being just like his daddy with no shirt on!

Great Grandpa thought he'd take Bradyn for a walk before supper but he didn't make it very far because our little man is a chunker and your arms get tired quickly...that's what strollers are for!! (I need to mention that my Grandpa is 90 years old...would you ever guess that!!)
Oh yeah.....can't forget to add in our hillbilly golf. I think Great Grandpa rules that game!
