What we've been up to

I have to admit that I'm a Facebook addict so my blog gets neglected. So here are just a few pics of what's been going on in our lives lately.

I work from home on Fridays and my sitter had the day off so thankfully Aunt Amber was able to come over and play with Bradyn while I got some work done. He had so much fun playing and even got to go outside and see Daddy dump our yardwaste container into the garbage truck.

On Monday night we went downtown with the rest of world to see the dutch dancers, take some pictures and ate an elephant ear. It's almost impossible to get 3 little boys to want to take pictures together (we even bribed them with junk food and it didn't work!). This was one of the cutest ones I got of them smelling the tulips!

Life with a 2 year old is very busy, he talks a ton and NEVER sits still! Here is some of his favorite things: color - orange, movie - Fox and the Hound, cartoon - Special Agent Oso, toys - any kind of truck, girlfriend - Krista (sorry Matt...but you know it's true!), food - any kind of fruit and he loves to sing and dance. I'm really excited for this summer to take him up north to the lake and go camping. Hopefully I'll be better and try to keep this blog a little more up to date!

Christmas Cookies

Every year my mom, my sister, myself, my aunt and my cousin get together to make Christmas cookies. This year the boys were old enough to help and they were really excited! Tyler got to be the first helper while Bradyn patiently stood behind him waiting for his turn.

Bradyn, with Grandma's help, cut out three cookies and even decorated one with some frosting and sprinkles. Afterwards he taste tested our creations and highly approved!!

Here is a picture of just a few of what we decorated. Our decorating skills are exceptional - can't you tell by the glob of frosting and adding some sprinkles. The first few always turn out so creative by using the gel tubes and making pretty pictures but that time consuming effort quickly turns to the faster we're done the better.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Halloween

Wow...it's been awhile since I've updated this!! I can't believe Halloween is already done and gone. We took Bradyn trick or treating with his cousins Tyler and Alex. I took Bradyn to about 5 houses and then we called it quits because it was so cold and windy and we had another party to get too. (less houses - less candy!)

Below are pictures from our annual Halloween party. We have a costume judging event for the kids and adults and you can win prizes. This year Caleb the lion and Madison the bag of cotton candy won. For the adults the scariest prize went to the scary clown, the funniest went to the hillbillies and the best costume went to Noah, his wife and their baby sheep.

Mario & Luigi (Tim and my favorite sister-in-law Amber)

Gangsters (Matt & Krista)

Noah & his wife and baby sheep (Dave, Sarah, Charlie and Abby the bunny who was missing from the picture)

Here is my little fireman.

Unusual Landings

About 7:30 tonight this is what floated through our neighborhood. It was the highlight of the evening for all the kids. I'm not sure if they meant to land in our subdivision or not but they did and it was pretty amazing how quickly and easily they did it!! They brought the balloon really low to the ground and threw out a rope to some people that were following it in a support vehicle. They pulled the balloon down to the ground and squeezed it right in between 2 houses (in the picture below you can see that our houses are fairly close together and they just went right in between without touching anything!)

The people got out of the basket and then they let the air out.

From the time the balloon landed until they had it all loaded up was only about 15 minutes!! The people even handed out stickers for the kids and let us look in the basket and the kids could touch the balloon!! Not an everyday sight to have a hot air balloon in your front yard and you don't realize how big they are until you see one up close!

Papa & the boys

Last week Friday my sister and I took the boys up to Silver Lake to visit Papa & Grandma. It was a great day to hang out at the beach and boys had a blast in the sand...more like throwing sand, luckily we had the beach to ourselves!! I just had to throw in these pictures because everywhere Papa goes the boys follow right behind - Papa sits by the picnic table, so do the boys!

Papa walks down to the dock, so do the boys!

Last weekend was also Bradyn's first sleep over. I left him with Grandma and Grandpa all weekend!! I did just fine and our course Bradyn loved it so much that when they dropped him off on Sunday night he cried when they left! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for watching him!!

Birth and a Wedding!!

On Thursday, August 6 - Charlie Ryan Wolters finally arrived!!! We were unpatiently waiting and he's finally here! Congrats Dave, Sarah and big sister Abby!

On Saturday, August 8 - Flamboe finally got married!! It was a beautiful wedding and he had an awesome time at the reception! Congrats Dave & Heather Flamboe!

Summertime Fun!

Last night we had a cookout with some friends and here is a few pics of how we spent our evening!

Hamburgers and hotdogs over the fire

Daniel, Abby and Bradyn waiting waiting for supper.

Playing kickball - parents vs. kids

Even the little kids joined in and everyone had a blast....until the mosquitos started eating us alive!!
